Atom Skates introduced Bionic 4 years ago. We were not new to the bearing market, Atom had a bearing line under our Luigino brand 5 years prior to launching our Bionic lineup. As we evolved into a vertical roller and inline skate company (Atom Skates), we realized there was a gap in the quality of components compared to the evolution of inline and roller derby.

Bionic is primarily focused on quality components for quad roller and inline skates with a commitment to service. All Bionic components are designed with specific geometry to provide skaters of all levels an advantage over its competitors or OEM (original equipment manufactured) products.

Bionic SWISS 8mm is considered our flagship of our bearing lineup, and for great reason.

Our SWISS is not made in Switzerland nor do we want skaters to think that. "SWISS" bearings were the first bearings recognized in the roller marketplace as premium skate bearings. Since then several manufacturers have developed and engineered bearings to the specification and tolerances of the SWISS manufacturers.

Bionic SWISS features deeper grooves, double honed races for smoother, faster and longer lasting bearings and cages made of Delrin®, a DuPont product.

  Another important feature is the materials of which the inner and outer rings as well as the balls are made of. Bionic uses Stainless Steel rings and titanium balls for great corrosion resistance and hardened capabilities that improve speed and longevity. Key elements to these materials is the process of heat treating.

   

  All Bionic Bearing are packaged in speed oil so that they are ready to use right out of the package. No need to clean them in order to achieve optimum speeds, nor is there any break-in time.

  We guarantee that if you use Bionic Nuts you will never dent another bearing shield, thus, saving you money, hassles of repairing or having to remove bearings and most important it ensures your bearings are rolling as free as they are capable of. (Bionic Nuts do not improve the speed of your bearings, they protect them from becoming damaged and losing speed that causes body fatigue.)
